International Society on Machine Learning

Since many years there have been plans to start an International Society on Machine Learning. Recently, Raymond Mooney has taken initiative and is organising nominations and elections, cf.

As also for ECML and PKDD there have been similar plans for some time, the question rises as to whether one shoud have one international foundation rather than two more geographic oriented ones. This issue will be discussed at the ECML and PKDD business meeting, where this question should be addressed from the European perspective. Raymond Mooney has kindly agreed to wait with the elections till after ECML and PKDD.
